Terms of use
In short: Loam's routes are computer suggestions that can be wrong, closed or unsafe. You decide what to ride or run and you do it at your own risk. Use Loam fairly, and it comes with no warranty.
Accepting these terms
By using Loam you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use Loam. You must be at least 13 years old.
Safety and land access
- Loam builds routes by computer from OpenStreetMap and other data. A route can include trails or roads that are closed, private, unsafe, seasonally restricted or no longer exist, and it can miss ones that are fine.
- Obey signs, closures, land manager rules and local laws. Check conditions, weather and your own ability before you go, and tell someone your plan.
- You ride or run at your own risk. Loam is not a navigation or emergency tool; do not rely on it where a wrong turn could put you in danger.
What you contribute
Flags, check-ins, trail submissions and bad-route reports are your content. You keep ownership, and you give Loam a license to store, use, display and publish them as part of running Loam. Bad-route reports are published as public GitHub issues (see the Privacy policy). Do not submit anything you do not have the right to share or anything unlawful or abusive.
Acceptable use
Do not scrape Loam, run automated or mass route generation, try to break or overload it, probe for weaknesses, or abuse the flag and report features. Loam applies rate limits, and requests over them are refused. Accounts can be suspended or removed for abuse.
Data and software
Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Loam's own code is under the GNU AGPL v3 or later; see the source code. More in Attributions.
No warranty
Loam is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a purpose, availability and non-infringement. Loam may change, be interrupted or shut down at any time.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Loam's operator is not liable for any injury, loss or damage, direct or indirect, arising from your use of Loam or from any route, map or data it provides. Some places do not allow some of these limits, so they apply only as far as the law permits.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes
These terms may change. The new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and using Loam afterwards means you accept it.
